Description

Delinquency and credit losses are an expected fact of lending, and certain factors are beyond the control of today’s consumer credit risk managers. Let’s face it; between double digit unemployment and the ever mounting regulatory burden, borrowers have less means to pay and lenders have fewer levers to pull. Margin pressure is intense for every financial services company. Lenders must be able to make rapid assessments of risk, better understand the alignment of pricing and exposure on an individual customer basis, and execute with operational excellence. They must manage profitability on each and every customer – and on each and every interaction with this customer.

This is no longer an option; it is now a requirement to managing a profitable consumer credit portfolio. And it is no longer about simply “evaluating or understanding” customer risk; it is now about proactively changing a customer’s risk profile for long term profitability. This is the essence of preemptive risk management. This session will cover various secured and unsecured credit products and focus on the use of net present value calculations and strategies to optimize credit exposure and customer pricing across a variety of customer interactions and informed by the principles of preemptive risk management. Participants will learn how to effectively apply preemptive servicing strategies and increase the profitability of their lending portfolios.
